Questions Part 3

This weeks theme: there is no theme. Would you look at that? This week and next week are going to be general questions. But! There will be 8 questions this week. No opening paragraph to bore you so lets get to it.

.) Is there something new that you’ve been wanting to try but haven’t yet? If yes, why haven’t you? If no, think of something new that you’d like to at least try once.

.) What would make you happier / what could you do to make yourself happier?  Name three steps you could take to help get yourself there. This question comes from when I was at a low point in my life. I knew that I couldn’t depend on any one specific thing to make me completely happy, that happiness had to come from within. But I knew I could do things to help improve my happiness. So one day I asked myself “What would make me happier?” After really thinking about it I narrowed it down to travel. That I always wanted to be one of those people who traveled all over the world. I always told myself though that it was impossible or maybe one day I’d do it when I was at a stable point in my life. As I told myself that I realized that there actually wasn’t anything stopping me. That waiting on the perfect moment in my life to take those chances was foolish. In those following months I planned out my trip on the Pacific Crest Trail. To this day I always thank myself for asking that question because it was a huge turning point in my life. Something so simple as asking a question and realizing that I was the only thing getting in my way.

.) When was the last time you took a chance on something big?

.) If it wasn’t for money, what would you be doing with your life? Now that it’s written down on paper, is money really the only thing stopping you?

.) Are you currently holding onto any grudges? If so, do you still remember the exact reason for this grudge? Have you tried to forgive this person for what they’ve done? If yes and you still can’t forgive them, why not? When we hold onto to grudges we hold onto a little bit of poison that never gets released until we have truly forgiven that person, and every time that person gets mentioned a little bit of poison is released into the body. If you think you’ve truly forgiven someone for doing you wrong but every time you hear their name you cringe, you haven’t truly forgiven that person. And forgiving someone doesn’t mean you have to become friends again, but no matter how much pain they put you through, you have to come to complete acceptance of it. You have to wish them well as hard as it may be. This is easier said than done and it doesn’t happen over night. It happens in time and through showing that person compassion. Get to work.

.) What are you doing to understand others who are different from you?

.) What do you spend a silly amount of money on? How might you scratch your own itch? This is taken from Tim Ferriss’ Tools of Titans.

.) What is truly important to you as a man/woman? From a list of 10, narrow that list down to the 5 most import things and from that list of 5, pick the 3 most important things to you. For example: Family, money, freedom, status, integrity, purpose, confidence, etc.
